Blog 8

Dear Class,

Today is the fourth and last themed post. You can choose what to write about in 280 words minimum. Don't forget to leave comments on at least three of your classmates' blogs.

Check this link for more on structuring arguments:
http://changingminds.org/disciplines/argument/making_argument/argument_elements.htm

Once you choose your topic, you could try to contrast aspects of it as in:
"On the one hand, I don´t think that schoolchildren should have mobile phones. No one knows what the health risks may be for young people's brains. On the other hand, they are a useful way for kids to get in touch with their parents when there is crisis."

Posts

Dear Class,

So far, you should have posted the following:

SESSION 1 Blog creation and set up / welcome-intro post
SESSION 2  Themed/free post 1
SESSION 3  Carrer-related website / an expert on your field
SESSION 4  Themed/free post 2
SESSION 5 Your favourite piece of technology
SESSION 6 Themed/free post 3
SESSION 7  Your favourite photograph

After that, you need three more and that's all this semester.

about blogs 6 &7

Dear Class,

Last week you chose the topic for your post and you mailed me because blogs were not working (we can't trust technology).
This time, make an effort to choose the picture you like the most... Maybe family, friends, people, nature, cities, you ...
Write about a photograph you like and say:

Who took it
What it shows
When it was taken
Why you like it
Upload it too

Include any other information you'd like to mention and write at least 280 words. Remember to leave comments on at least three of your classmates' blogs.

Best,

Belén

Presentations this Friday

As on Friday 6th you will be presenting, send me an email if you have any questions.

Some important points to remember:
  • You can use notes but you should only glance at them from time to time.
  •  Students who read their presentations can be marked normally but their mark should be 3.5
  •  The same criteria in the case of slide shows full of text. A slide show should contain summarised information not long pieces of text. Ideally, each slide should contain no more than 3 or 4 words.
  • Remember, this activity accounts for a significant part of the final mark so try your best.
It's a 3-minute presentation so don't panic. Organise your ideas, practice and you'll be fine!
 Good luck!
